Kenrick-Glennon Seminary has started selling Christmas cards - you can purchase 10 for $10 (they include envelopes). The picture on the cover of the card is of one of the stained glass windows in the Seminary's St. Joseph's Chapel, and depicts the scene of Jesus' nativity.
Matt Barnard and Jim Theby, two fourth-year theologians at Kenrick-Glennon Seminary, were ordained transitional deacons for the Archdiocese of St. Louis at the Cathedral Basilica of St. Louis this past Saturday. Every time I witness an ordination, I am most excited when I see the ordinands (those to be ordained) lay prostrate on the marble of the sanctuary floor, offering themselves completely to the Lord's service. I look forward with longing to the day when I can do the same!
I was asked to take pictures at the event, so I've posted them here (on Life is a Prayer.com) in normal web resolution, as well as on Kenrick-Glennon's photo website, in full resolution (in case you'd like to print any out!).
I've posted pictures from this year's All Souls Day Mass. Since the Mass fell on a Friday, we had a 1962 'Extraordinary Form' Mass, and we used the Requiem Mass, complete with the singing of the Dies Irae, Gregorian Chant, and black vestments. Click on the picture below to see more:
